Reflections on the Barbados Launch of When God Calls
As I sit on my patio with my laptop writing this blog, I feel an immense sense of gratitude for the beautiful Caribbean weather which I’m currently enjoying & for the cool sea breeze caressing my body. I am also grateful for the successful launch of When God Calls in the magnificent surroundings of the Radisson Hotel, Christ Church, Barbados.
The event was held on Saturday 24 Nov 2018. I was thrilled by the number of people who attended & for their enthusiastic response to the book. I was humbled by their warmth & generosity. Almost everyone who attended bought at least one copy of the book. Those who did not buy a physical copy expressed a desire to acquire the E-book version. It was so good to celebrate the occasion with friends, colleagues & other significant people, many of whom have been a part of my journey since my childhood years.
I am grateful to everyone who attended and made the evening such a memorable occasion. Thanks to those who offered tributes and read passages from the book. The staff at Radisson Hotel deserves a special mention for providing a welcoming environment and for keeping the cocktails and canapés flowing. I can still hear and feel the beautiful sound of the Cicely Gay Steel Band pulsating through my body. As a bonus I am delighted that the event received coverage in the Barbados Nation newspaper.
